Measurement of Diameter and Geometry of Precision Bearing Balls

This technique enables contact-free measurements of ball diameters using a pattern matching method. During pattern measurement a pixel value is determined, which will subsequently be used for service measurements.

Fig.2.
Circle edge identification following differentiation along two axes

Along axis X engle values renge from -1800 to + 1800. The average value of the all the points is 1*10-6.

Circle radius R = 37.03975

Center of circle coordinates:
xc = 52.73784
yc = 53.23058

Values are given in pixels.

A spectral analysis of deviations provides an entire spectrum of geometrical distortions of the circle shape in amplitudes and phases of the harmonics.
