Universal Contactless Compact Angle-Meter OPTRO-DU
Brand new contactless compact angle-data transmitter is based on measurement of target image rotation on the image sensor of TV camera by video data array processing on PC. Optical target is represented as a two-dimensional set of elements with known location, for example orthogonal grating of circle shaped elements with relative brightness 1 on the back ground with relative brightness 0.
This transmitter has the following advantages: small capacity (matrix dimensions don’t exceed 10 mm), stability to target transverse displacements (vibrations, radial run-outs of bearing, for example) and also low coast in comparison with transmitters and devices with similar metrological characteristics.
It is obvious, that in this scheme target can be located even on the significant distance from rotor rotation axis.
Work windows of angle measurement software of OPTRO-DU
Angle-data transmitter resolution reaches hundredth parts of angular second. Though transmitter precision depends on precision of target manufacturing. For simple applications target can be manufactured on a film or even on a paper. In that case the measurement error will be ±5-10 angular seconds. In order to achieve the measurement error at the level of ±1 angular second and less, one should manufacture the target with high precision by applying the technology of photolithography on chrome.
